Help Us Keep Your Water Meter Accessible
To ensure you receive timely and accurate utility bills, the City of Punta Gorda asks all customers to keep their water meters clear and unobstructed for meter readers and utility crews.
According to City Code Chapter 17, Sec. 17-2(c), City personnel must have free and clear access to water meters for reading, maintenance, service disconnection or restoration, and inspection of service connections and backflow prevention devices. Obstructions like overgrown vegetation, debris, or pets can delay service and affect billing accuracy.
Please take a moment to:
- Trim grass and bushes around the meter box.
- Keep the area free of trash bins, yard debris, parked vehicles, and landscaping decorations.
- Ensure pets are secured so staff can safely access the meter.
Water meters are typically located near the street or sidewalk. Maintaining a clear path to your meter helps our crews do their job efficiently—and helps you avoid missed or estimated readings.
